Summer in New England

Hi , We are planning a trip to New England in June .We will be flying into Boston for 4 days and then flying return from Boston to Toronto to see family. It will leave us with 10-12 days and we want to do a round trip from Boston to see the coast and mountains. We love walking and the country side so would be grateful for any suggestions on itinerary. There is so much to see that we need some help from those of you who know the area. We dont want to be spending all our time driving. We could also do with some advice on accomodation ,log cabins,small hotels etc. We are a semi retired active couple.

You will have to ask your questions in the forum for the states that comprise the New England area of the US. Try Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
