Theodore Roosevel N P - nearby reasonable accomodation?

We are planning a holiday next September around South %26amp; North Dakota, including a couple of days in Theodore Roosevelt NP , but we%26#39;re having trouble selecting accomodation around the area of Theodore Roosevelt N P. Reviews on hotels in Medora are mostly bad. So, I don%26#39;t know which one to choose! Any helpful hints out there?

Many thanks.

Medora is a town that has been rebuilt from a ghost town back to a touristy attraction. The hotels are all basic. About 40 miles east on I94 is a bigger town called Dickinson. More motels but nothing to go wow about.

Many thanks. It narrows things down!

Hello,

I worked in Medora one summer during college and it was one of the best summers I%26#39;ve ever experienced.

If you go in September, things will be slowing down, so it won%26#39;t be as crowded. I think you%26#39;ll miss the chance to see the Medora Musical, unfortunately, since that ends in early Sept.

The weather will still be nice, and I would recommend staying in Medora, despite the reviews you%26#39;ve read. Accommodations there are nothing fancy, but the experience will be worth it. It%26#39;s a beautiful part of the country.

http://medora.org/ is a good resource for Medora-area info. Good luck and have fun!

Many thanks. It sounds an interesting place to visit, despite the apparently noisy train!

We stayed at the AmericInn in Medora which was clean and good. Close to the railway but it didnot bother us. We had some very good dining at the Little Missouri Saloon and Dining. You can walk from the hotel. Even if the musical is no longer there it%26#39;s a good idea to see the outside theater. Medora is right at the entrance to Th. Roosevelt NP and we liked our stay in this small town.
