Things are kind of slow here so how about a thread of the various 4th of July and other celebrations around North Dakota this summer.
My town, Driscoll is celebrating its 125th Aniversary on July 4th-6th. And nearby Menoken has their 125th one or two weeks before.
Small Town Celebrations
June 14-Flag Day parade in Medora
Labor Day weekend in Mooreton is always great.
And here%26#39;s a link to a bunch of them:

Small Town Celebrations
the small town of Reeder will be celebrating its centennial towards the end of this month

I don%26#39;t figure I%26#39;ll be there, but I%26#39;d be glad to hear/read from those that do attend
Here in Valley City we have our annual %26#39;Rally in the Valley%26#39; combines with our 125th starting next Thursday.
My hometown, Lakota, ND is celebrating its 125th Anniversary and annual turkey barbecue as well, and having an all-class reunion on the 4th-6th of July.
(anyone have any advice for getting out of it? :) j/k)
Over the 4th, Jamestown will also be celebrating its 125th. The schedule for the 4th is as follows:

And the 5th:

Years ago I spent a summer in Dunn Center... as I recall there was a parade... I have photos. Is this still a happening event???
Just thought I would post my trip report to this thread, since no one ever posts trip reports to the North Dakota forum :)
(and this is firmly holding my tongue in cheek)
Day 1: Arrive Lakota 1:30 PM. Drive through town, see they are furiously finishing a shelter in the park. Church is crowded, realize it is a funeral when see the hearse.
Dinner at my mom%26#39;s (scalloped potatoes and ham ... yuck). Find our accomdations in trailer parked in front yard.
Day 2:
Morning: 2 Mile fun run around town. Get a t-shirt. Low pressure shower at Mom%26#39;s.
Tour high school, look at class pics on walls, show my bf every locker I had from 7th-12th grade.
Afternoon: Class float parade. Watch about 50 years of classes with their floats. One is made out entirely of beer cans. Start to get thirsty.
Evening: Street dance with lots of beer! Can%26#39;t decide whether to drink on the left or right side of main street. At some point have had too much to drink and we walk home.
Day 3:
Morning: Hangover. Then the Fourth of July parade. Lots of tractors, combines, old cars. They throw candy at us.
Afternoon: Nap time. Then to park and pool. Ah refreshing! Starting to get thirsty.
Evening: Turkey roast at the park. Yumm (much better than the scalloped potatoes). AND Another street dance. Can%26#39;t decide whether to drink on left or right side of main street. So do both. Come out of one of the bars to watch fireworks. Then they auction off some rifles. Music starts. Somehow end up in bed.
Day 4: Have to get up for Church in the park, somehow make it in time! Service and then LONG drive back home :)
Hope everyone else from ND had or has a great 125th :)
Nice trip report izzyblizzy. ;~} Driscoll%26#39;s 125th was much the same.
