My wife and I will visit North Dakota in July. For both of us it will be the 50th state visited. I think that calls for a celebration of some sort. We will be heading up from the Black Hills area and are interested in visiting T. Roosevelt park. We%26#39;ll then be heading east for home (snowy upstate NY). We%26#39;re both still relatively young, late 40%26#39;s, and in fairly good shape. We%26#39;ll have our 10 year old daughter with us. Any suggestions on how we should mark this occassion in grand fashion?(Pretend that money is no object...but it really is) Thanks, V.

Make a stop in Bismarck and tour the Capital. Make sure to go to the obsevatory and celebrate your accomplishment in the tallest building in North Dakota. It isn%26#39;t exactly cheap......

This is one of the most easily accessed state capitals. Bismarck is not a huge city and the capital sticks out above every other building there. Most of the time the traffic isn%26#39;t even very heavy.

The musical in Medora is another MUST. It is one of the biggest attractions in ND. If you stop in Medora for the musical don%26#39;t miss the Pitchfork Fondue. I agree with the previous post about stopping in Bismarck at the Capital. I have been there a couple of times and after traveling to other states, you really do appreciate the freedom of roaming the ND capital. After Bismarck and before Fargo is Jamestown. From Interstate you can see the world%26#39;s largest Buffalo. Live Buffalo can also be seen here and if you are lucky you might see White Cloud which is the albino buffalo. You could take a stop here for the ';Old Time'; town that is set up around the Buffalo but there is really not much there. Another stop along the way home would be Scheel%26#39;s in Fargo. It is a huge sporting goods store with a working ferris wheel inside. The animal scenery is awesome and there are several games your 10 year old might enjoy here. There are also several restauraunts around the Scheels which is right off of interstate 1-94. My kids love Space Aliens and believe it or not, they have really good food at the one in Fargo. I lived in ND my whole life until we moved to KS a year ago so if there is anything else you would like to know, PM me.
