Do you know of homepages presenting preselected 4-5 stars cottages for rent? Or a homepage with a good layout presenting also reviews/opinions of the cottages? Or a travel agency having a portfolio of wonderful cottages?

There is a region of the United States known as New England. There also is a small town in southwestern North Dakota called New England. This small town most likely does not have the cottages you are looking for. Look for such cottages in states like Massachusetts or Connecticut which are in the New England region.
