The end june first part of July a friend an I (2 women) will be coming home from Glacier N.P. park through N.D. We will be traveling on I94.
We will have a couple of days to sight see - how far is it to International Peace park from 94? Would it be worth driving up thee to see it? If so are there good motels near by?
What else can you suggest - we like scenery - history and of course shopping in unique stores.
We like to do some things in the evening also.
We do not mind getting off the freeway to drive - just as long as it will not take us to long - we do have a tight time limt?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you%26#39;re coming from Glacier, don%26#39;t go all the way down to I-94 and then go up to the Peace Garden. Just stay on Hwy 2. The Peace Garden is up on the Canadian border and I-94 runs about an hour north of the South Dakota border just to give you an idea. If you%26#39;d rather just stay on interstate and not go to the peace garden, then Medora would be a lovely stop with a very romantic story in the Chateau de Mores, plus they have a pitchfork fondue with a musical there too and the badlands are lovely. It%26#39;s a cute little town with lots of shopping. Fargo has also very cute boutique like places downtown for shopping as well. Unless it%26#39;s a holiday with events that you can hit, a lot of the small towns along the way may not have much going on in the evening...Bismarck and Fargo usually do and again sometimes you can catch stuff in the smaller places too.

Stay on the I94 and see Medora. Touristy little place and you can go through the park. Not as crowded as The Dells. No large towns up by the Peace Gardens and the only chain hotels would be a Super 8 in Bottineau.
