Is it difficult to find places to stay?

We are planning a trip to the New England states the last week of Sept and first week of October. Do you think it would be difficult to find places to stay if we just made a tentative travel plan and called ahead using AAA travel guidebooks? We did this last year when we went out west for 2 weeks and did not make reservations ahead of time. That way we were free to stay longer in some places, or skip the ones we ran out of time to see. We had no problems finding a place to stay. However, it was not necessarily considered the peak season as I think it will be in the New England states this time of year. I know there are wonderful places to stay in New England, including many B %26amp; B%26#39;s along the way. But when we travel, we don%26#39;t consider the accommodations as the highlight, rather the things we see along the way. So in your opinion, is this possible to do or will we be like Mary and Joseph and find no room at the inn?! Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

You need to post this in Massachusetts, New Hampshire or some other New England state. This is the city of New England in North Dakota which is a thousand miles from where you want to me. Good luck!

This is the ';city'; of New England in North Dakota..

LOL, the word city somehow struck my funny bone!

I know but I figured that would be clearer to say it that way...guess I should have just said town....but it just didn%26#39;t roll off the tongue to say town of New England.

I wasn%26#39;t criticizing you or anything, hope you didn%26#39;t take that wrong! It just was funny for a laugh :)

People just jumped all over me in the Hawaii forum because I said if you don%26#39;t pick the right Island for you, you can end up hating Hawaii so I guess I%26#39;m a bit jumpy! Thanks for clarifying! Now can we eliminate New England from this forum? It obviously causes more confusion than visitors to the town for th whole year?

But then the post count in the North Dakota forum would go way down!! LOL

Ha ha...very true. I guess we can think of it as giving others a free geography lesson!
