What could I do with my mom there?

Ok, here%26#39;s the deal... my mom has been to 49 states... the only one she hasn%26#39;t been is ND... Fargo would be the closest city if we drive from Chicago... I am 28, she is 58... and she doesn%26#39;t enjoy anything like hiking or canoing or anything like that that i think ND is known for... She really wants to go with me, but I have no idea what we could do there. My thought is maybe we could go to museums, boat rides if there are any?, and a nice dinner. We%26#39;d most likely only stay one day unless there%26#39;s actually enuff to do to warrant a longer trip. I am not set on Fargo, but like I said, it would be the closest to drive to. Any thoughts out there for what we could do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :)

When are you planning to go? I would recommend summer or fall, as the winter can be brutal and the spring can be unpredictable (I grew up in Fargo).

Some things to do..

The Plains Art Museum

The Air Museum

The Fargo Theater (if it%26#39;s running something that interests you)

The Hjemkomst Center is technically in Minnesota, but it%26#39;s a 5-minute drive from downtown Fargo

If your mom is a baseball fan, there%26#39;s a display of Roger Maris memorabilia at the mall:

Bonanzaville - a replica pioneer village

If you visit in July, try to catch a show at Trollwood

There really isn%26#39;t anything in the way of boat rides or canoe trips in Fargo... the Red River isn%26#39;t a very friendly river.

There are plenty of lodging options in Fargo, from the basic Holiday Inn-type hotel, to the swanky refurbisihed Hotel Donaldson

Enjoy your trip!

Fargo is also great for shopping. Try the newly remade downtown area. There are tons of quirky fun little shops. Two of my favorite are One World Imports and Zambros.

Another great store is Clay Your Way, a paint your own pottery place on 45th st in south Fargo. They also have mosaics and glass fusing.

Hope you have fun and let me know if you have anymore questions.
